if you want happy and healthy tropical fish, then it’d be a wise idea to add freshwater aquarium plants. the fish like them and they help balance and keep the ecosystem more stable. also, one thing i really like is that they compete with algae for nutrients so there tends to be less algae management that needs to go on. it can also hide all the cords, heaters, and filters in the back of the tank if you add tall plants like the java fern and the corkscrew vallisneria. they fish will be less stressed out because they’ll have places they can hide and fish like that.
