Criteria For New Areas
Not just any area is approved for missionaries by New Tribes Mission. They first go through a survey to figure out if they should go there. They decide if there are actually measurable differences between the various languages of the area. They want to give priority to the area that has a unique language and is thereby isolated from the Gospel currently. Another criteria is the worldview held by the area. Again, the NTM wants to plant churches in areas where the worldview is separated from the Gospel. They want to find areas where the Bible has not been translated in any of their languages.
